IT

Information Technology (IT) is the branch of engineering dealing with the use of computers and telecommunications, developing and maintaining systems as well as retrieving, storing and transmitting information. The branch is responsible for the efficient operation of IT services and infrastructure; leading the corporation in the use of Information  Technology as a strategic asset.

IT provides value to the corporation by enabling departments to provide service to citizens through the use of technology. The emerging needs of the corporation are addressed through IT planning and innovation. Effective positioning and efficient leveraging of the information technology asset through the introduction of new approaches allows  departments to meet their business needs through technology. IT Service Management Embedding continuous improvement as a practice, these core service monitors and reports on the performance of the Branch against industry-accepted standards and frameworks.

Electrical

Electrical engineering is a field of engineering that generally deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism. It now covers a range of subtopics including power, electronics, control systems, signal processing and telecommunications. The main aim is to ensure the safe use of electricity. For this purpose, they are given the responsibility of designing electrical appliances as well as the wiring system of electricity to ensure the supply of electricity to these appliances. Electrical engineers are concerned with designing the flight systems of aircrafts and rocket propulsion systems. Industrial automation and automobile control system design are also a
part of electrical engineering. Electrical engineering has an important role to play in many other fields of study. For instance, signal processing makes use of the principles of electrical engineering in modifying the digital and analog nature of the signals to obtain the required output.

First Year Engineering

Engineering is all about the creative application of sciences through the happening technologies and advancements of the real world. The Department of First Year Engineering, being an integral and basic part of the college focuses on promoting the discovery and application of scientific knowledge to empower students to face the global challenges. Thus, prepares the students to contribute effectively, intellectually and ethically as citizens of a dynamic scientific community.

Augmented by a research-based curriculum, the department has always thrived in the development of strong basic fundamentals in the relevant courses right from the first year of Engineering which is an ideal prospect to exemplary education. The syllabus is designed in a way to have a learner centric system as this is expected to work as a bridge course and accordingly real time implementations through hands on practice and innovations in projects are promoted among the students.

Under Autonomous system, the department strongly believes on continuous evaluation and feedback so as to ensure that students gets acquainted to develop their logical, analytical, and creative thinking skills and also to emerge as a life- long learners. The foundation of engineering education is laid through the knowledge of basic principles of Engineering Physics, Environmental Chemistry, Engineering Mathematics, Communication Skills, Computer programming, Foundations of Analytics, Modelling of digital circuits, Programming for problem solving, Problem identification of design thinking, Basic electrical Engineering, Introduction to Digital System, Bio medical Engineering, Introduction to drones, Internet of Things, Introduction to machine learning, Introduction to discrete devices and circuits, Digital Logic Design etc.
